Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Nobody will quit

People like to posture, but whatever the reason, 99.99 percent will not quit when push comes to shove. Even when it comes to RTO for people who've been remote all this time, I'm betting you the majority - other than those who'd have to relocate - will just move to the office. If people were quitting so easily, there would be no need for layoffs.

What they said. The fact anyone fights masks and vaccines while allowing this virus to mutate into worse and worse forms to endanger more people is unconscionable.

America has hit rock bottom as far as empathy and good sense is concerned. I can see why some countries banned travel from here. I would too if I were them.

Imagine your life being so pathetic that the only way you can feel validated is by spewing vaccine bu-----t on a non-political layoff forum in order to hopefully start arguments.

Well duh, there isn't a mandate yet, so obviously people aren't quiting over something that hasn't happened yet. We can infer from widespread teacher/healthcare/1st responder worker departures however, that the same will occur here at WF when/if one does go into effect. If that's on top of already excessive turn over, all the better. It'll have more effect.

Newsflash: people aren't quitting over vaccine mandates at WF, they are quitting due to inept leadership, stagnant pay, constant negative news on the company being unethical, etc.

The number of people I've seen leave on their own accord in my group and LOBs across the company has been higher this year than I've ever seen in 10 years here.

I'm out as soon as my bonus and 401k are paid.

7,800 teachers in NY were willing to lose their job over it, so I'm betting that WF will not be immune.

The enterprise has to cut $10B with a B worth of expenses. Do you think they care what the voluntary attrition rate is of non-revenue producing back office employees?

To clarify: I have empathy for people who are considerate of those around them and who protect their loved ones, their families and their friends. I have empathy for immuno-compromised people who have gotten the vaccine and have to keep protecting themselves in social situations and stores from non- mask-wearing a-holes who only think of themselves. I have empathy for all the doctors and nurses who have been working around the clock for a year and a half to save the lives of those who refuse the vaccine and the reality of what’s happening around them.

I have ZERO empathy for inconsiderate loudmouths who are grandstanding for political reasons, or who suddenly have some bs religious objection. If they are d-mb enough to quit their jobs or get fired: No, I do not care one bit.

I just resigned today. Woohoo! I actually got an amazing pay increase and they’re covering my bonus so I leave now. Win win for me.

People who want to quit are facing the challenge of finding a position that offers remote work, and a different mindset. Wells Fargo has proven time and again that it does not value its employees. There are some people that have gotten exceptions, and to me that indicates those people are valued more than the rest of the people who did not get exceptions. There are multiple cases of people who are now being asked to commute much further from where they live. WF has always had the mentality that we should all just be thankful to have a job, no matter where we are placed, or what they do. The collaboration and effectiveness rationale is absolute nonsense. People are being sent back to branch locations, or other locations where clearly they will not be collaborating with people onsite. This is the direction Wells Fargo wanted to go long before Covid ever sent people home. They’ve ignored how successful it has been for some groups, in favor of moving right along with their agenda. Also, look at the similarities between the messaging Apple provided to its employees when they were told to return. Even their well-thought out letter made no difference…

"If you are talking about employees quitting rather than getting the vaccine - I don’t think anyone cares if they quit. The majority of employees have or will get the shot once mandated. If a few grandstanders decide to quit, they can be replaced."

So much empathy. Once your immune system is boosted to nothing, some people will probably show you a similar amount of compassion. Not me, I'm not an @$$+0/3 and actually care about people, but some will.

Lmao voluntary attrition is already up by 15% this year. People are finally leaving this place and hopefully I'll soon be with them.

uh, sorry you're flat wrong. voluntary attrition across the enterprise has breached their boundaries (meaning more people voluntarily left than what they would count as within risk appetite). At least 5 different business groups and the enterprise overall have been in red since summer. The difference is what groups are doing, or not, about it. The enterprise level doesn't seem to care but it's certainly proof people are quitting.

Turn over is already higher then the company would like, and that's without mandates and RTO. When/if these things actually happen, we'll see the results. It's not like finding a job elsewhere would be hard. If there was no jobs to be had in the market, you can get away with doing things like this. As it is...
