Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Bank of India!

80% of the audience on my calls is Indian. While I have nothing against them... it's a bank policy problem...they preach D&I but don't really go after African Americans or Hispanics. When in doubt stick an Indian as D&I.

When an Indian becomes a manager he will overwhelmingly hire indians and seek visa approvals over locals. It's become such a big problem and a communication issue that majority of the calls are unproductive and go side ways.

This whole RTO policy will only make things worse as they are claiming shortage of talent...all the while they aren't competitive and want to bring the poor folks from India to be their servents as they hold their visa and contingency to stay over their heads.

Let's call it for what it is and stop dancing around the issue.
It's all to keep wages low and have unwavering servitude by that sort of workforce to please the aging white execs looking to line up their pockets, lobby the govt for more visas and gcs and handsomely pay their shareholders. The middle class continues to get crushed. Such a sad place corporate America has become and BofA is right on that abuse train.

Found out today Fraud is expanding the role for our "partners" in India. Once again American business helps destroy the American middle class by sending jobs overseas.

@alt+1dvBnLii That's true but it's also the Indians here on an H1B visa do not have the liberty to assert themselves given that their employment status at BofA is the only mechanism keeping them in the US.

In reality, BofA is not only selling out the American workers but they are also exploiting Indians.

It's about $ but not entirely. If you watch your Indian coworkers even here in America, they never assert themselves on anything of import. This compliant, passive, submissive nature, can be highly attractive to a certain type of CEO. Cultural differences in an Indian versus a white guy from Texas, for example, cannot be discounted.

The funny thing with cheap labor is that you get cheap results and it costs you more in the long run. I have to deal with offshore on a couple of issues and they won't solve my problems. Not solving a problem actually guarantees them employment and repeat unhappy customers.

Correct! Our technology and "support" teams are all non diverse one group hired for the sole purpose of cheap labor. One in a few is ok, but it's insanely discriminatory that the bank has allowed it to happen on this scale.

Keep this conversation civil. No need for cheap shots.
Yes it's a problem, but the bank loves status quo and cheap labor. It's still on the outsourcing train that derailed a decade ago.
