Toxic managers

This company have some of the worst managers I’ve ever encounter in my 30 years of experience. The last one is the all time worst. This piece of sh*t manager saved his own hide by adding my responsibilities to his job description during a re-org. I made him look stellar even though he didn’t do any work except to “managed” me. When I told him his ideas doesn’t make sense and data dies not support it. He told me it didn’t matter as long as I help him to get closer to his next promotion. He will help me if I help him. Unethical. I refused to stoop to his level and lie. I got out the he-l out from under his supervision because I didn’t want to tarnish my soul.

Sounds like you had the UIS VP who’s “a winner” of some made up ALLY, GRIT self serving bs.
The most clueless exec I’ve had since her time at the GOM. Disaster after her tenure and she keeps moving up, making bigger, costlier messes.
But I&D and the pretense that she’s some sort of token leader keeps her afloat.
And to make matters worse, the tag along husband too has to be accommodated from Ni geria to the US payroll.

So many Darwin Award winners in the company, so many proud examples of the Peter principle.

Every job I’ve ever had making my manager look good was important. Not sure why this is considered a problem. You think your job is to make him look bad?

Its true, I am from BTC and have been told by manager to make him look good if I want to stand any chance of succeeding in the company. He said the culture talk is BS, in reality you need to obey orders like in army. Funny to see such people ‘doing well’, clear indication how ineffective the performance assessment system is.

Its all about kissing up to your managers and other managers, thats it, thats what he told me as well.
