Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Is Cisco implementing a get vaxxed or get fired policy?

I'd be surprised if not.

They actually drank Flavor-Aid at Jonestown. Koolaid kind of gets a bad rap for the whole thing.

Why are many of these businesses ignoring the science of immunity from already being infected? It's clearly political. Many companies are requiring full time remote people to be vaccinated, why? Is it spreading over WebEx meetings now?

Because even full time remote workers sometimes have to go onsite or have meetings with customers in person. It takes 5-6 weeks to be fully vaccinated depending on the vaccine. Companies don't want to have to plan 8 weeks out so that you can get vaccinated. Especially since if you're not vaccinated by now, you probably won't get vaccinated before they need you to come onsite for whatever reason.

It's just capitalism and business. It's more expensive to try to fight the mandates coming from the government and easier to replace you if you don't want to get vaccinated. I thought Cisco hired smart people. It's easier to make you show proof you've been vaccinated. Unless you were hospitalized, do you have proof you actually had COVID?
Some of those tests are false positives. Why can't you figure simple stuff?

“My main concerns are the long-term toxicity of the lipid-nanoparticle delivery system, plus possible long-term auto-immune disease as a result of expressing Sars-CoV2 spike proteins on the surface of normal cells. I'm also worried about micro-clotting due to spike proteins in the endothelium of capillaries. ”

A cool-paste of the ‘greatest hits’ of anti-vax pseudo-science! Why don’t you tell us why climate-change isn’t real while you’re at it!

If you knew the first thing about microbiology, you’d know your “concerns” are hogwash.

"If an individual catches covid at a Cisco workplace, that individual can sue Cisco." Maybe.
But probably not. This idea was floated by Chuck but it's really stupid from a legal standpoint. How can I prove I got the virus at work? Why not somewhere else? And if we open liability for COVID, what if someone gets the flu at work and dies from that? Liability for catching a virus at work seems unlikely.

"to appease a bunch of whiny toddlers who are paranoid about anything they don't understand or like." I actually studied microbiology as an undergraduate and I do understand how the vaccine works. My main concerns are the long-term toxicity of the lipid-nanoparticle delivery system, plus possible long-term auto-immune disease as a result of expressing Sars-CoV2 spike proteins on the surface of normal cells. I'm also worried about micro-clotting due to spike proteins in the endothelium of capillaries.
You can disagree if you like, but I do understand what I'm talking about. On average dangerous effects from dr-gs take seven years to surface. If you can point me to a study that follows patients who received the vax for seven years, I'd be glad to read it over. :) You may or may not understand the vax and how it works, but you obviosly haven't spent any time listening to opposing points of view, which makes you the "toddler."

Anyone that can survive at Cisco for 27+ years must be an unethical psychopath.

If an individual catches covid at a Cisco workplace, that individual can sue Cisco. Get vaxxed or don't come into the office. And when a recession hits, all WFH will be chopped first.
Got my 2 vacs already, waiting for a booster shot. Been at Cisco for 27 yrs now, retiring in less than 5 yrs.

The ELT has said they are not mandating vaccines but you must be vaccinated to work on-site (which is only for critical workers at this time).

IBM, Google, Microsoft, etc. have already told their employees they have to take the vaccine or else. I doubt Cisco will give up on the Federal contracts just to appease a bunch of whiny toddlers who are paranoid about anything they don't understand or like.

And good luck finding another job when other companies are demanding you to be vaccinated to work there as well.

If the person giving the order is a sen1le d1ctator, does the order stand?

It's going to depend on the outcome of the legal team regarding the scope and reach of the "if you do business with the feds" executive order from Biden. The EO applies to all employees and contractors of businesses do work with the Feds.

Nope - they are a good company with a heart and a brain - so they have implemented a site strategy that makes sense. Vax or wear a mask or just keep working from home - whatever you like is the current.
