So then there should be weekly testing for all VZ employees. Even if they are vaccinated. Vaccinated people are still getting the virus and spreading it as well, even if the rates are less.
If you’re so concerned about this virus and your need to virtue signal, you’d be worried about ANY & ALL forms of potential virus transmission, no matter who has the vax or not.
Thankfully, union members have the choice and won’t be mandated.
Liable for what? Someone says they got the virus from an unvaccinated VZ employee with no proof, that they could’ve gotten at the supermarket, by a family member, by somebody already vaccinated, anywhere they go outside of their homes, etc.?
And the mandate is not the law by the way.
If there’s no mandate, I’ll certainly be clamoring for weekly testing. If Verizon does nothing they will be liable for anything bad that stems from their inaction. That’s a lot of lawsuits….
VZ got what they wanted: a mandate for most employees. Most in the general public will perceive the vaccine mandate (if they even know there was one) applied to every VZ employee and just assume that every Verizon employee was vaccinated. They just assume that wireless/wireline, all lines of business, etc. are all one in the same, with same mandates, rules, regulation, unions or lack thereof.
That’s all Verizon cares about. The free publicity. They could care less about health, safety, etc.
There will be no mandate for union employees. Sorry for all you who can’t mind your own business and are clamoring for it.
The CWA and IBEW have never been in a more potent position than they are right now.
They can dictate their own terms.
What Southwest Airline unions were able to do is nothing compared to the impact of telecom unions.
If the union guys don't want the jab, they really don't have to take it. The problem is that their union leadership is beholden to Joe Biden. Or, are they not? Time will tell.

and school vax were tested for years or decades before being widely administered to the public, so please don’t bring that up
Who cares about the typo. Still no mandate for CWA members and there won’t be. overzealous mandators are going to continue to have to deal with it.

The company will continue with the vaccine requirements because of government contracts. Have to meet the mandate.

Postponed forever. Because there will be no vaccine mandate for CWA workers. The company got what they want with their mandate & the free publicity that goes with it. Time to move on
