That the layoffs are around the corner.. I can't believe this is true given that we are very understaffed. Does anyone have more detailed information?

Only one RIF in my team, and he was the oldest on the team. Over 50.
Yep, with the exception of 2018-2020... Happens every year.
I would love to know the ages of the people being laid off. Seems to be older employees, younger ones who are paid less were kept

No rumor, it's real...just got the call. I'm with Wireless, GN&T. Almost 66 y/o with 18 years in, "volunteered" for this. Time to retire, best of luck to all!

They're cutting my coworker just a few months before he's able to retire with the vz retirement plan. So its not just the normal cut before the holidays. Double whammy.
I wasn't let go (yet) but a coworker was just told he's being let go in December. He's an employee.

There are layoffs all the time. Some months bigger than others. There will be one tomorrow. Not every organization is understaffed. And even if the workers consider them understaffed, the company might not. You will get details tomorrow when those affected come here to share.
