McDonald’s enters strategic partnership with IBM to automate drive-thru lanes

Great, so now when I order a Big Mac at the drive-thru, I'll get a Filet-o-Fish and be informed that there's nothing wrong with the order.

I predict that sometime in the next 5 years McDonalds will buy IBM, and will become McIBM.

So finally IBM returns to its roots - automating the distribution of animal parts for human consumption.

That's funny I still see those Ibm registers everywhere. Costco uses them and the cashiers usually say they are fast as anything and never break. If you ask me we should have kept making machines like that for the world. It ain't often you see a 20-30 year old piece of tech still not being replaced by some cheap Chinese knockoff nowadays. Hopefully IBMers will get McDonald's points now instead of those useless Blue Points!

CFO Kevin Ozan said that fewer than 100 employees will leave McDonald’s to work for
IBM.

R.I.P. to those 100 once they are officially assimilated into the Bleu.

I will have to follow this... as soon as it is implemented, I will be testing it out... I do not have much hope though!

Here is a True story... I was buying something at Academy with my wife couple weeks ago. When I got to the register (an IBM register, I thought we sold that business), the register started acting up and rebooted, the lady at the register was all embarrassed and said: "Sorry Sir, these are IBM's and they always seem to have issues". I then replied, yeah, I am not surprised... my wife looked at me and started to laugh!!

McD's heard about our inability to perform a simple email server migration, right?

Yes but they have equally big problems with their ice cream machines ... see
https://mcbroken.com
and

A match made in heaven! Maybe there is a finally a career at McDonald's after IBM lays us all off.

They are in good hands. If there is one thing IBM excels at, its serving up
