I had 8 managers/supervisors in last 7 years. Only 1 of the 8 was any good because he was close to retirement and earned his position/ the respect. The others were green around the gills, there to check the boxes and to crack the whip. Most have little technical, commercial, or people skills. Even tried to meddle in areas where they should not to create bad outcomes.
Revolving door of wannabe managers and very few do-ers. Create a low trust environment.
If the company want to do better, then they need to put experience people in positions where they can influence outcomes.
