Return to office productivity

Is anyone actually experiencing an increase in productivity being back at the office? Personally, I find I hose around a lot more than usual and BS with colleagues. When I'm not doing that, I'm scrolling through TikTok on my phone.

No, not near as productive. While I seemed to take more short breaks at home, I was often logged in earlier working, when otherwise would have been commuting. Also, at home…I rarely took a lunch hour….and it was easier to stay later since again, don’t have to fight 5pm traffic on a commute. Fiserv will get at least 3 less hours a day out of me now…..not including the constant distractions of the office setting. It was just hard to make this distinction before the pandemic……but now that I can accurately compare the two, it’s a definite misconception for me to think that the office setting is better than the WFH, when it comes to productivity.

I only went into the office once so far, I think I got 30 seconds worth of work done. Everyone that walked by my desk wanted to stop and chat.

Productivity my a-s. The Nj location is the worst as it is temporary and has no assigned seating. If the teams are colocated there may be some benefit. However most teams seem to be dispersed and they communicate via teams

They want you to BS with your coworkers. Why else would they need you to come back? If anything, you should be BS-ing with your coworkers more.

Yeah, in the office is hard to focus like i was at home, and find it nice that i'm not putting in more than 8 hours now... Since i don't want to work longer so i can drive in traffic, and it is nice i don't get called on my cell phone anymore (since i don't have a mobile work phone).
