Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

WFH or Relocate, unless you are an...............

Astronaut! That is the term I have heard being thrown around by managers(more than 2) whom I've known for 20+ years. Basically, only around 5% of current remote employees will qualify as 'Astronauts'. This was from a meeting they had with head of HR within last 2 weeks.

I'm well aware that FB pays $68K a year in property tax for his multimillion dollar property two miles away from a concrete factory. That's not showing ignorance - that is pointing out the absurd. Lighten up.

Mixed use corporate industrial is not uncommon in the northeast. That does not make the entire state a**. Same town has dozens of homes a million and up. The broad critiques belie ignorance.

If you get paid by Fiserv, you should always be job hunting. Or have enough savings to cover a job hunt.

Does anyone know if we get told if we are 'astronauts'? I was hired as a remote employee pre pandemic and I haven't heard anything about relocation yet. I am trying to figure out if I need to start job hunting or not because I am certainly not moving.

Fiserv will help lower that per capita income.

"If you refer to NJ, please know that yes, it is expensive, but that is because we have one of the highest standards of living in the nation with one of the highest per capita incomes."

Yes, true. It's so nice, in fact, that there is a concrete/asphalt factory right next door! Just think! How many corporate campuses get their very own concrete factory?!

Here are the directions if you want to take a pleasant stroll after lunch:

Please stop bashing the hub locations. They each have something to offer.

If you refer to NJ, please know that yes, it is expensive, but that is because we have one of the highest standards of living in the nation with one of the highest per capita incomes.

Those who don’t want to relocate, that is their choice, but it is not fair to bash the locations with such a broad brush.

NASA - Need Another Seven Associates

  • 1 didn’t get vaccinated
  • 2 were laid off due to “synergies”
  • 4 refused to relocate to the armpit of America

Not sure what the term means, but that is what is indicated on the SS they use to track who, what and where. It's a joke really, not sure what the criteria is they are using, but 5% seems like a low number knowing how many people that I know have been allowed to stay home, at least for now. I don't trust this company at all to keep that strategy long term. Over and out, not risking having to go through this again in 3/6 months.
