Are you allowed to have another job and/or own your own company NON-related to XOM/industry? I think you’re “allowed” (just has to be disclosed and approved by management)…but how is that perceived across management? Is anyone doing this and/or know of anyone else?

I've been silently building a real estate empire. No one know and it's none of their business.
I rotated (month on, month off) as an EM engineer (Upstream, Drilling) for years. On days off you were really off, less periodic recertification and training days. Also, travel time to and from the working location was on my time. My work locations were all international. So I ended up with a 30 days on and 26 days off schedule, more or less. During days off, I had an opportunities to work other, non- petroleum jobs from time-to- time. I never asked anyone at EM. I just did it. I considered it a perk, ha!
Most rotators just wanted to be off during days off.
I am now retired
It’s fine, just adhere to the policy, simple enough.
What if person is doing something similar as main job? Or working other job during the time they should be working main job?
I have a herd of 72 black angus. Everyone knows. No issues.
Yes, if you have pre-approval from LAW, Public and Government Affairs, and your Vice President.
Yeah, I know of a guy who has a real estate LLC. No issues
