You will take a huge pay cut to step down to Wal-Mart. If you stay at Sam's Club you will lose 10% or down to the max hourly rate for your new position. I stepped down last year. I maxed out at $24 an hour. If I had went to Walmart with same level position I would have been at $19 an hour.

I stepped down and went to another club across town, I’m hourly make as much as the fresh leads and have never regretted my decision. Your pay depends on how long you have been with the company and how long you were in management.

I know a manager that stepped down as a manager at Sam's and went to a different Sam's and didn't lose much. Says he makes more with overtime.

My friend, no one has ever been able to get a straight answer about this FROM managers like yourself. Everyone I know that has gotten an answer, was given a wrong answer, including myself. Good luck.
