Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Let them eat cake. XOM management team is completely out of touch.

Darren Woods had said he thinks people will “be encouraged” by 2022 raises. He is a modern Marie Antoinette.

Really? A 1% raise is encouraging? Here are some more stats:

0% raise in 2020
6% US inflation
20-40% —> the amount my peers are getting to work at actual IT companies
0% —> the chance of me sticking around after this insult.

Promotions and 2021 performance are not directly related, promotions are based on 3y trailing performance so some won't/didn't get it despite a good 2021 (me included).

Let’s be straight, DWW and his buddy TG just wants you gone. They are encouraged by that. This is part of the plan.

DW and his buddies will be encouraged. Workers are not included in his comment

when he said "people" will be "encouraged"...perhaps he wasn't lying. Just manipulating the truth. I think he meant the executives, corporate sleeze, due to oil/gas price rebounds that hit the fancy table in abundance. the scraps that fall off the table are left for the dogs/us

He is referring to anyone below very good who did not get a promotion this year.

OP, mind sharing more info? Is this across all performance groups or for anyone who wasn’t one of the highest performers?
