Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Attrition stories

A group of 10 engineers onboarded together. 1 fired last December and 6 quit since January. Only 3 remain in EM. 70% attrition rate.

This has to be higher than planned.

I have heard that Management is tracking the attrition but will not publish any stats.

Tell us how bad attrition is in your group.

BTC is hiring by the hundreds not counting the ability to ramp up at MSPs. The company is not overly concerned with attrition, even with elevated attrition numbers at BTC the hiring numbers offset..

2 more high performing employees with less than 5 years at EM quit this past week. Completely unrelated to the excellent raises, quit before raises communicated.

These are just 2 that I know. EM wide likely a lot more left this week, but I hear that January will bring a surge of resignations.

@1gax+1e62brq4 - with all the cube pics post in LI and reviews on Glassdoor, it probably scares the applicants away :p

Heard that 80% of campus job offers in USA were turned down.

EM not considered a preferred employer by graduating seniors any more. EM loosing high numbers of young engineers to green industries then not successful at recruiting on campus.

Could be due to low offer amount.

Could be aversion to oil industry.

Could be what else?

Only three remaining? Not even enough to change a light bulb. Great job EM! Keep it up until only one left to turn off the light and close the door. LOL

CSR is a sham for sure. It is so toxic and worthless that even Dallas doesn’t want to touch it. It is just a matter of time before the judgement to CSR criminals is delivered.

Disgusting people and their disgusting stories - all across the board at EM. Among these, most worthless are the folks at CSR in Clinton, New Jersey.

Who cares about attrition...as long as supervisors/managers do not change their behaviours, it will keep coming....and as long as the ranking system still in place, it will keep coming...
