Day A: Execs preach on and on about how they want to re-engage their employees and make this a great place to work in order to attract the best and brightest. “We know that everything we achieve is thanks to your hard work and dedication,” and “we are committed to our employees.”
Day B: We are taking away employee reserved parking and will stop shuttles to the Metro effective immediately.
An important note regarding stopping shuttles to the Metro: WFA is located in a trash part of town, on the outskirts of downtown. No hustle and bustle here. Vacant buildings, burned-out buildings, pawn shops and housing projects only blocks away. Cars stolen off our parking lots because Charlie has reduced security. No longer guards on each lot, now a few guys riding their bikes around campus. Last year, an employee was robbed at gunpoint at our front entrance at 7:00 AM. Several years back, an FA was robbed walking to a hotel near the Metro. Now Charlie expects you to hike it to and from the train yourself, alone and in the dark. So much for his commitment to his employees.
Shame on you, Charlie Scharf.
WF tower in downtown PHX also has 2 WF owned garages they charge employees to park in. Been that way for all 10 years I've been here. Huge wait list to get into the garage next to the building, shorter for the one three-ish blocks away. Lots of private lots/garages nearby, including the Chase garage, all cheaper than WF option.
No. My guess is that they will have a building management contractor take over the parking and charge WF employees for the privilege of parking on site. There's already tons of WF buildings like this. They don't really care if anyone else parks there, so long as they can claw back some $ from employees.
When it happens, blame the CPG folks. They are the perpetrators.

@xvg There’s a difference between parking garages at campuses that are free and parking employees have to pay for just to walk in the bldg. The point of this post is about FREE parking going away. Not reserved spots.
Plenty of people in the world who have achieved success and wealth without stepping on the backs of others. No wonder we can’t get out from under the asset cap - we haven’t had a CEO with good moral character in at least 45 years.

@vep+1e7nmrTZ there's nothing else around to rent to. Renting out the lots for the new soccer stadium could make sense though. They won't do it due to the risk though.
CS will next lease the St. Louis Parking to private firms that turn around and charge a fortune per month. I have no proof, but the millions WF would make a year is hard to pass up.

I understand it as zero reserved spots including all senior management, WIM OC, DK's team, etc.
First question for St Louis employees to inundate WFA top execs with is:
Where are they parking?
If the WFA execs are getting their reserved parking taken away, than okay. If not, make them miserable on a daily basis.
The difference between St. Louis and other hubs, to the best of my knowledge, is that we have on site parking lots and several parking garages, all of which are owned by Wells Fargo. Plenty of parking for everyone, especially with layoffs.
There is NO reason for this change, other than that they are continuing to stick it to their employees however they can.
Charlie should be ashamed of himself for collecting that $25 million per year personally, and then nickel and diming his own employees. I hope he rots in He-l.
What you don't get is that there is no free reserved parking in any Wells location in the entire country. Maybe just wake up earlier to get a good spot? What you forget is that AGE has not been a company in almost 15 years. Stop holding on.
The real problem is paid parking. If they wanna hub, ok, fine, but it's a complete load of S to have any hub location with paid parking. It's employee abuse for absolutely no reason. May those that have made such decisions, or enforced them, be laid off in the next round.
I used to pay 180 a month for my parking spot in Charlotte.
Yet any time there was exploration of transit benefits it was shot down by HR Benefits Management because “they wanted to be consistent for all employees.” But they haven’t been consistent on parking benefits, even within the same city. Look at Minneapolis- free parking at the mortgage campus (and they just spent many millions expanding the garage) but nothing for the twin towers, WFC, NOC, and the other downtown facilities.
They stopped paying for overflow parking, reserved spaces, shuttle services, and more for our city as well. It's all been first come first serve for 5+ years now.
Ah, I had completely forgotten that our site in the PNW used to have a shuttle service from the light rail and bus park and ride. It's been a few years, but that was a really nice benefit.
