Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

I don't have a good experience with smaller banks

Some say that they gained more experience, recognition and reward by working in a smaller bank than here, but my experience is not like that.... Moreover, I worked in a smaller bank where the atmosphere is much more toxic than here.
I wouldn't want to to look for a job in one of the smaller banks again. Although, it should not be generalized, everything probably depends on which smaller bank it is.
To be fair, BNY Mellon also has many advantages over smaller banks?

@2vyy, that's why I said MORE of a financial institution. We're only a bank for banks and UHNW individuals. So we pay better than a bank but not as good as a financial company.

What? BNYM is a bank. It’s both a corporate bank and a bank for the wealthy, mostly old money. You cannot actually be working here.

Banks pay like cr-p. Luckily, BK is more of a financial institution so they pay better than banks.

Small banks get taken over by big banks.

Comparing large to small banks is like comparing d-mb and d-mber

Smaller work environments (regardless of industry) tend to lend themselves to the sort of problems you've mentioned.

I personally prefer a large global distribution of employees. Less likely that I'll see a colleague dining out, or me arguing with the (soon to be ex) wife.
