Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Predict the next site to go... pride not prize

Aerospace and Oil continue to contract.
Logistics is booming.
Specialty materials is... i dont know anything about materials.
Change everywhere i look.

So place your guesses now.
What sites are Census lottery winners?
What sites will be Census losers ?

My guesses -- aerospace in phoenix is a loser especially space systems.
Glendale and Ottawa move 50% of design to puerto rico and end up with no business at all other than goverment charity to keep support alive for ballistic missiles.

Engines to a lesser degree as ROI for new engine build seems impossible to achieve in this decade and nobody has the guts to bet the money.

Finally deer valley get a huge shock as upstart avionics companies like xwing and established players like collins CRUSH the anthem flight deck as traditional cargo planes focus money on full automation and single pilot operation. The cloud control marketing will be overshadowed by cheap onboard point to point operation. Honeywell gains only in business jet space.

Oil-- yikes. Public enemy number one.

Guess first.. then call me names.

Rocky Mount - why is it still there? Tucson makes controls, Tucson engineers were moved to Phoenix, RM product designers in South Bend. Move production to Tucson or perhaps Mexicali, move engineering, procurement, etc. to Phoenix.

@1hds -- be sure to tell that to the folks affected by the closures in Renton, Wichita, Dallas, etc. I'm sure they said the same -- LMAO!!

LOL - to the Normalcy Biased brown-nosers. All business plans are subject to change depending upon how the quarterly numbers come in, management shuffling, partner arrangements, political climate, and now Covid. Gonna be all the more fun to watch their heads explode...

  • Torrance to Mexicali
  • Phoenix Gear Building to Chihuahua (in process)
  • Tempe 1207bldg closing/demolished, employees moving to Phoenix and Deer Valley (in process)
  • I would guess Tucson is on a list to be closed - 1st guess Mexicali, else Phoenix somewhere.

My biggest guess is an announcement regarding South Bend. Honeywell does not like unions.

Olathe doesn't necessarily have to close.

They could outsource the site to a 3rd party. Like happened with Tucson and mississauga.

Guess we'll hear this quarter.

Still find it curious that MM town hallgot cancelled. Maybe it's been rescheduled and I haven't got to the email.

I’m curious why Olathe Cedar Creek is on the list. Why would they move everything from Renton and Wichita to Olathe instead of going to Phoenix in the first place?

Probably Glendale. It’s a country club full of prima donna engineers waiting for retirement.

It’s falling apart and has a rat problem

Tucson. HON moved all of the engineers out of there last year. Product move to Mex, Phx, Tempe. Site is stand-alone, beautiful location.

Plymouth get relocated in in Minneapolis. They either move LBA or TGI to another location. Building that big enough to support commercial and military. So that will be there excuse, I work in LBA. Please let it be us.

It's an open secret in the corridors of power in Phoenix that Cedar Creek Olathe is on the chopping block by Q2 -- that is if the jab mandates don't speed up the process.

Clearwater. It should have been labeled a superfund site years ago or the town dump.
