Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Even small banks pay more than US Bank

I've been looking for a way out and I've gotten several offers. Each came with higher pay than I get here after four years with the bank. I'm still not sure which offer (if any) I want to take since all of them require relocating, but it really bugs me to realize just how underpaid we are here. Was this always the case or is this a newer development?

If you are effective in your correct USB position, you will never get promoted. The promotion can gets talked about at review time but is always kicked down the road. A promotion means higher pay. USB will never do this, until they are forced into it.

If you are useless, lazy, slow of mind, promotions come fast. This is management material for sure. The goofs in management do not want people below them that challenge them. They have been in place way too long and are not looking to change things up. They want slow, brown nose people below them.

One other item that managers are aware of but employees often are not. New trainees are brought in at a higher pay rate than those dedicated employees that have worked at the bank for years. USB treats long serving employees the worst. They don't care if you leave and think you are stupid and incompetent for staying. Just look at how poorly they treat you. Enjoy training people that make more money than you do.

For reference a similar job for a senior analyst has a pay grade with a midpoint of 109k vs 155k at Wells Fargo. And I know many who have been unable to move up to the next pay grade at US Bank because once they get you in, they don’t care about retaining you.
