Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

What is Honeywell's plan if the Supreme Court rules the mandate unconstitutional ?

Copied from another post. Think this should be its own topic. The axe man comes tomorrow for those that won't comply - or does he??

My location just got rid of the unvaccinated without religious or medical exceptions. They were told that it was a corporate decision. Then I have to give me a memo.

I really believe if it’s her policy. A lawyer won’t even dig up your case. I think the companies have right to create their own policies.

More winning on the state nullification of unconstitutional federal edicts:

Texas Governor Greg Abbott on Tuesday sued Joe Biden and the Pentagon over its military vaccine mandate.

Over 40% of the Texas National Guard are refusing to get the Covid vaccine.

On Tuesday Governor Abbott asked a federal judge to overturn Biden’s vax mandate citing his own authority as commander-in-chief as governor.

Supreme court should rule against the federal mandate because it is unconstitutional and the gov't doesn't have the power to mandate it. However, the states do have the power to mandate it, which is another reason to overturn the mandate - if the states see a need for it they have the power it implement it or not, depending on the conditions in their state. Companies can also implement it on their own if they want, the federal mandate just gives them cover to do so because some companies fear the blowback by employees if they do it on their own.

Bottom line, federal mandate is unconstitutional and unnecessary. They only mandated because it was the only way to force 100% compliance by a population where significant numbers don't want it and many (natural immunity) don't need it.

It's their opportunity to get rid of those who don't "toe the company line".

@umn.

Because the “federal mandate” provides cover for the business now. If immunization is more financially advantageous to the business, the policy will shift to become a corporate policy if the federal mandate is overturned.

Corporate policy will govern employment.

But they haven't made it corporate policy. They've only said they are complying with federal mandate.

It doesn’t matter, most states are at will employment so they can still mandate it as part of being an employee.
