Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Lump Sum Pension

I punched out in early November 2021 and AT&T uses the first day of the next month as your retirement date, so December 1, 2021. How long has it typically taken some of you to receive your Lump Sum Pension? Mine is being routed directly to my IRA. Should I expect it soon? Thanks and Happy New Year.

Legacy T with 35+ years. Mine took about 2 weeks from when I put in for it until ht was deposited in my IRA and that was for an amount near 3/4 million.

Keep in mind, there are multiple pension plans. Depending on whether you are management, bargained for, one legacy company or the other.

Me, legacy Pacific Bell, 33 years, 943k. A buddy, came from BellSouth, has a couple years on me in age and service. From conversations we've had, indirectly I've learned he makes a bit more than me.
His BellSouth pension, worth Mid 300's, so he has told me

Did it all online, rolled to Fidelity IRA, took about a week or two. Could be longer if moving to an outside IRA account.

" Received my $989k lump sum pension check "

Jeezus. Good for you. How many years of service? I am thankful I got in before the pension stopped completely, but I'll never get close to that amount.

3 weeks once paperwork uploaded to portal. Added time for spousal consent form but relatively easy. Good luck.

I’m part of that club too. Left 9/30/21 with 41 years. Took about 3 weeks for lump sum and 401 money to arrive. Yours might be longer because the closer it got to 12/30/21 Im sure the busier it got processing retirements.

Grabbed mine on Oct 18. Took 6 weeks and a few days. They have to send you a package and then I had to call Fidelity NetBenefits with my decisions. The 6 weeks started from that call.
