Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Valentine's Massacre

Prepandemic, Valentines week was a road trip for almost every division. It was koolaid week. For 2022 that week promises the something similar...swallow this, and hit the bricks.

"AK hated Expert Labs because they were in the unfortunate position of getting actual feedback from high volume customers on how poor IBM solutions really are."

We still do that ^^^ daily... That tells you how bad most IBM software are or still are.
So, I guess AK must be really having a bad day daily... That really makes my day!

Let's start a petition to get AK out...

AK hated Expert Labs because they were in the unfortunate position of getting actual feedback from high volume customers on how poor IBM solutions really are. Then top level Execs would have to go on the apology tours. To all the clients that were deceived. Nobody likes the bearer of bad news and they always become the scapegoat. Especially in an organization where "leadership" takes no ownership or responsibility like Big Sc--w

"Never heard of expert labs. Wtf they do and how many people got “decimated”? "

What division you work for? Hard to believe you never heard about the service team from the Software Group, Cloud division... now renamed IBM software.

How long have you been at IBM to not know the various division, groups, etc...

I think we should put you on the RA list. LOL!!

Last year (2021) in Feb, Expert Labs in the US got decimated. We lost a lot of experienced consultants, most of them close or over 60 years old. Some of these guys were engaged at customers long term, still they got canned. We had to go back and apologize to customers for taking consultants, that they were really happy with, away!

This IBM company is just the d-mbest.

@1ddc+1eE3SFit hardly a new guy, been working for IBM for 40 years. Seen more layoffs than I can count, including many groups I was a member of, and have been impacted by a couple personally, but landed on my feet internally.

May or June not happening. Jan and dev it’s happening. Guaranteed.
Clearly you’re the new guy in town.

There are so many FUD posts like this on this site that state a date something major will happen without any information backing it, and they are almost always wrong. IBM will definitely have layoffs in 2022, no question, and there will likely be one or two major ones based on historical trends. February would be unusual though - May or June are the most common big layoffs in the US, after 1Q results and an updated FY outlook - and pinning a specific date 6 weeks in advance does not seem credible on the face of it, without an explanation.
So, posters, anything you can say to back this claim ?
