Manger forcing employee to break company policys

I was told my by my manger today to something I know if I do the way manger want me to do it it would be breaking company policys. I inform the manger of the policy he said I don't care do the way I told u do it. Couple other associates were there and witness what the manger said. We all agree we shouldn't break policy but everyone was scared of being Coach if we don't do the way the manger want us too. Even our team lead said stop fighting with the manger do as he said. Policy are in place for a reason what point of wasting time on CBLs if the manger not going to fallow them. I remember long time ago when our club was really bad and the home office came and clean house and fire 4 out of the 6 mangers we had. I think it time for home office to do it again not in just my club and lot of clubs. Manger feel like they are god over the employee treat them like sh-t because they know the employee won't fight back because they need the job. This company need a major make over from all the way to top to the bottom.

If it's a safety issue contact OSHA. They will respond within 24 hours.

Still no policy listed, so gonna hav to say there isn't one. Just something you always did wrong, and thought was right.

Problem is that the managers that they have in place don't know policy cause they weren't correctly trained or the just don't care cause Noone has the ba--s to stand up to them and say "this violates a clearly written law "and I won't violate that just because you were placed in a position that clearly you are not capable of doing. Company policies are there to make sure Noone breaks a law and get the company into trouble with either the state or federal government . Call ethics or better yet call your state dept of labor. Either way there is a policy against retaliation to protect your rights. Some of the managers today no that associate either don't know policy or will just do what they say cause someone put them in charge.

If you can point to a policy that is clearly defined on the wire that a manager is directing you to disregard, it is in your best interest to contact your Market Manager. It will roll back down to the club manager to ensure the policy is followed and you are not retaliated against.

Just know this: there is a difference between policy and procedure. Policies are black and white. Procedures can sometimes vary based on if you have the correctly functioning equipment or not. So sometimes you can do something that is not the technically ideal way but that doesn't mean you've broken policy. But don't do anything that you feel will jeopardize your employment or harm yourself or others.
