Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Is there anyone who regrets leaving?

Not only do I get paid more, but there is generally less work and less stress in the new company. Now I regret that I hesitated for so long whether to leave or not. Basically, I had a hard time accepting that I would have to start somewhere else from the beginning, but now I see that I should have made the decision a long time ago. Advice to all who have doubts about leaving - there no reason for being so indecisive, the grass is much greener outside.

After being laid off in 2019 I did go back for several months in 2020. Then I came to my senses and became an early member of the Great Resignation. Since departing I have regained my mental and physical health, as well as my dignity and sense of self-worth as a person. At the time I left I knew it was the right thing to do for myself and my family. The sense of relief I feel each day knowing that I no longer sell my integrity to an organization with no sense of compassion or social justice cannot be over-stated.

Once you start interviewing it will be easy to identify the better places to work. Hint: it's going to be most of them

Nothing you do will ever be enough for these people. You could deliver them the entire city of Eldorado and the boomer simps and normies expect you to find two more next year for the same pay.

I had many years into the company and stayed until I got my package. Knowing MOPtum would find a way around giving packages. They have. It’s COVID and shots. They don’t have to pay unemployment or a package. YAY! I have been happier and better since I left, you have to create a plan and then, move on!

many teammates left after healthpartners bought and sold sold and bought etc...it was crazy. many think theyre leaving for greener pastures but it's simply different sht. one dump for another dump with desperados and indoctrinated employees singing the company song

Many of those middle managers and other corporate clowns believed in stupid optimism, delusional optimism. They 'really' thought they were doing something important, worthwhile. They believed in the missions, aims, happy faced company propaganda on the walls. Little did they know, the joke was on them. Their "life" was over before it began on the corporate plantation.

"Not all were bad, there were some good managers, but I couldn't believe the complete lack of maturity, the yelling, the interrupting, over-talking, petulant child behavior of so many at the Sr. Mgr, Director, and Sr. Director level. So many lies."

This poster describes NYS C&S perfectly.

I am happy I left. I am sorry I waited to be laid off. I'm not saying my new job is perfect but senior management and human resources at the new place are far above the cesspool level of management experienced at Optum.

Some USians thk it's so easy to 'go back to school' get a 'better job' etcetc...so deluded. Most have never experienced real American hardship. Deluded survivorship trustfunder inheritancer bias. The US place is a septic tank. A disgusting vile place of lies, corruption and endless propaganda. And the mo--ns feed into by working at this corporate sl--e fests profiteering off of the sick and the infirm.

best decision ever to leave that capitalistic cesspool. It's a place for those with very few options and who are willing and happy to slave away for US empire corporations.

So glad I’m gone from there. My health has improved n even list Wecht with no effort at all. Correct that the IT arena there is horribly managed and I have 49 years of work under my belt to compare it to.

Leaving? No... I regret going to Optum, even for one year. As an IT person, there is SO much better out there. I've been working in the corporate world 20 years, 5 or 6 different companies, and I can tell you Optum management was bottom of the barrel - hands-down. Not all were bad, there were some good managers, but I couldn't believe the complete lack of maturity, the yelling, the interrupting, over-talking, petulant child behavior of so many at the Sr. Mgr, Director, and Sr. Director level. So many lies. So much nepotism. So many thrown under the bus by those in power... I could go on for an hour - but it seems like you all know the story.

I'm contemplating leaving, but I'd love to hear where are the ones that say it's better on the other side, working now?

So glad I left. Life is so much better, benefits are better, management is night and day better and greed is not the motive for every decision. And my first raise actually was in line with the cost of living and rewarded my hard work. Just like the saying goes, the higher you rise the further you fall, Optum's day is coming.

Leaving MOPtum was without a doubt one of the best career decisions I have ever made.
