I haven’t been here long but still, the atmosphere is so tense that I think I could very easily be the target of some future layoffs. I’m also a little worried that it might happen soon, but that’s just my feeling, I don’t have any information nor have I heard anything about cuts.
I ask out of curiosity because someone mentioned that severance pay has changed over the years, what was the severance policy a few years ago compared to the current one?

Spent 19 years there and was let go in 2020. The severance package was for every year you would get 1 week, if you had 20 yrs of service or more you get two weeks for each year. Get what you can from them as they do not care about you or your family, so go into work knowing this is the case and you will be fine.
Linked In and Indeed are full of other opportunities.
It is not enough to wait around for. Move on! Much better companies out there.
Enjoy the ride son, easy money and you get to watch in real time the comedy of errors namely the illustrious NOV management passively dysfunctional in every way.
Its a shame your feeling that way!
The toilet paper isn’t even that nice… that bottled water is salty as he-l, take it easy or get ready for some kidney stones. Don’t let them rob you of your dignity, go prove them wrong at your next gig
To finish up that reply..
toilet paper is usually around for the taking. And some paper towels.
My fridge is packed with free water bottles so grab those too!
If you "haven't been here very long" you ain't getting anything but an escort to the front gate as severance, try to steal a couple pens on your way out.
