Serious Leadership Problem

This company is wasting my time. I’m done trying to save this sinking ship.

There is a serious, serious leadership problem. Those at the top are creating barrier for progress. They protect their fiefdom by using the same tactics of instilling fear. They are so wrapped up in their own self importance that they can’t help to clear obstacles to those who needed help. These managers are totally incapable of acting or driving change. Technically incompetent and can’t think for themselves. Task that should take a day is taking weeks. Obscene that they PIP off competent people when they should be getting rid of these managers who do nothing!

What leadership? This company has no leaders nor any leadership left. It only has greedy, unfaithful, worthless management.

@1dci+1eFwjK09 the only way people like you survive at XOM is buying sucking blood of other employees. So ofcourse you want others to leave.

Quite a few pretty senior EMIT managers including two executives have made the decision to jump ship already, so this is nothing new.

"This company is wasting my time."

Best opening line ever.

I can’t stop laughing that you thought you were saving this company. Clearly you don’t understand the scale of this company if you think 1 person can save this place. It’s like a guy spitting on a wildfire thinking he’s doing something lmao

If you are not in the club there is no stepping up. I take will happen is that you are stepping up for the next PIP. The place is broken beyond repair. The problem is that you can not fix a problem you won't admit exists. XOM is done. Let it crash and burn and start over.

Cut the managerial cr_ap.
Any person randomly chosen from the street would make better decisions than our managers, because:

  1. They would admit their ignorance, unlike our “leadership”
  2. They would try to use common sense in making decisions, while our managers always look for whatever will please their superiors more, even if the effects on the company are obviously detrimental

The problem is managers literally step in to interfere with progress. Not everything needs a VP or a senior manager to send it out. It’s ok just to work it at lower level…

And can we please spend a bit of time making sure the people doing the actual work are supported instead of second guessing everything they do. If leaders actually tried to understand how work gets done they might actually focus on things to make the company successful.

@OP Do you think that you can do any better or would do anything differently? If so, step-up and do it. Complaining to the internet rarely improves the situation.

America: Where everyone complains, and everyone wants someone else to do the work to make the situation better.
