Citi Proceeds With Layoffs for Non Vax Folks

Citigroup will terminate employees who have still not received full COVID-19 vaccination by Jan. 14, a spokesperson confirmed to FOX Business.

Citi announced the company’s plan to require vaccinations for employees in a post on LinkedIn on Oct. 28.

"We have made the decision to require U.S.-based colleagues to be fully vaccinated as a condition of employment," Head of Human Resources Sara Wechter wrote. "We will assess all requests for religious, medical or any other accommodation required by state or local law on a case by case basis."

"Our people are our most important asset, and we will do all we can to help our colleagues comply with this new requirement," she added.

At the time, Citi announced no deadline, but some reports discussed a Jan. 14 deadline.

Bloomberg, then Reuters, reported the looming deadline on Friday, and Director of Function Communications Kerry Snow confirmed the date.

"We announced this vaccine requirement on Oct. 28, noting that complying is a condition of employment, and the January 14 deadline to comply with the requirement was widely reported back then," Snow said in an email to FOX Business.

The bank took the decision in October to comply with the Biden administration policy requiring all workers supporting government contracts to be fully vaccinated.

But the policy will now apply to any Citigroup employee. The employees will work remotely for part of 2022, but should return to working in person in February.

Citigroup is the first major Wall Street bank to impose such a restriction on its employees, according to Bloomberg. More than 90% of the company’s staffers have complied with the rule, with that number expected to continue to rise over the next week leading up to the deadline.

Employees who leave under the current termination can return for future roles once they are vaccinated.

D-mb straw man, pass

Schools should go back online if they can't field enough staff

"I'm not trying to make this political, but here's why this is political"

I'm vaxxed and boosted, I left BoA and I work from home permanently at another bank. I still check these threads because RTO was the main reason I left and I want to see it blow up in their face. I happen to agree with firing unvaxxed id--ts like you but it also makes great troll bait. You have your right to choice as much as businesses have the right to choose to fire you. Go choose a place that doesn't require you to be vaccinated.

Not only testing or religious exemptions but also taking in consideration natural immunity acquired from previous infection. Even questioning the approved narrative gets people banned and marginalized. We got to the point that a lie is covered with another lie...constantly. Gaslighting at its finest.'

@1mpz+1eGuFhvc riddle me this,
someone is in an accident and has a trauma inducing injury, an off duty nurse runs out of their car to render aid, is the injured person (or parent, companion of that person) going to ask if the nurse is vaccinated and boosted before being rendered aid?

Look at the schools this week, a large majority had to close because their vaxxed staff and bus drivers have covid at a staggering amount.

Think about this. I am not trying to fight or make this political in any way. People need choices, the parent can ask the question and turn the help away from the nurse, the orgs can fire staff, but are they the right decisions?

Choice is an element of democracy. Orgs can do what they think is right, and so can people.

News Flash, most companies would be smart enough to allow a testing option in lieu of the vax. The vax is not 100% effective, and can still transmit. Citi is not allowing that option. Next up, you will be let go if you haven't had the booster(s), or flu shot. This is a poor precedent being set.

Disgusted how many people are clapping over the dismissal of nurses and citi bankers. These are our fellow Americans.

$hitibank trying to set the low bar for stupidity. Just wait a little longer for SCOTUS to declare the mandate unconstitutional. I bet they want to be bailed out again...

This is Darwinism in the modern age. This will weed out the unfit. Most of those I know of that are unvaccinated at BOA are negative , lazy , incompetent and have bad attitudes about everything. Culling these fools will be a breath of fresh air.

BOA will not follow because it operates in many RED states like Texas and will be sued for firing unvaxed people. CITI operates only in BLUE states so it has no trouble firing people.

News flash to the news fl----r: It doesn't matter what the government does. A private entity can decide all on their own to require a vaccination as a condition of employment.

There are more conservative leanings Supremes on the bench

Go back to your CNN and blanket

It’s a done deal because it’s unconstitutional and the Executive branch does not make laws.

Maybe you should watch a school house rocks video. Might I suggest, “I’m just a bill”.

Jane Frazer is the next Marissa Mayer. She will push 8% of her talent out the door for this. Then an additional 10%, once she mandates the booster, and other vaccines.

And the sub-lieing text is:
BoA is a hidden subsidiary of Citigroup.
Which is owned by the Fed.
Which is an offshored shell of Teslamazoft.

Hence, the relevance.
