Out of touch with employees

You know what annoys me the most here? Management that is absolutely out of touch with employees. Maybe they see themselves as leaders, but unfortunately, I can't consider a disconnected manager a leader. I worked at several companies in the industry and they all had a similar issue, but not as big as here. What is the problem? Why so much disconnection between management and employees?

Management is totally out of touch with pushing for returning to the office in person when people this month are working while sick with COVID or caring for family members sick with COVID at home with all of the year-end reporting deadlines with less resources from reorgs and people quitting from burnout.

It's not being out of touch. Management is only interested in the Hi-Pots or those who are on the "recognition" list. Any attention given to others is a waste of time and can be viewed as a problem if you kick up dust.

We don’t have leaders as these people in management have not earned it. They were given the positions as they were HI-POs. They are kind of like trust fund kids, they believe they desire the money they didn’t earn. There is no humility.

Then on top of it. We have a huge disconnect in society today with laws, boundaries, boarders, wars, polices, testing, mandates, race, inflation, government debt creation, fear mongering …….. etc etc etc

Basically if the news can polarize peoples because if it, that’s the only thing they will report. (It’s all about the click bait). This finds it’s way back to the workforce and further deterioration happens.

Management has got to start listening to the majority of employees regarding work from home. Yes a few people want to work in the office but the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. They are going to further destroy morale if they keep it up.

Can you offer some examples?
At our site, we have a voice. But, it can be stifled: Cost of living. Pay. Trust. Chevron ego preventing simplification.

It's similar to Washington DC and the people. Power and ego takes over. It's what can you do for me to advance or otherwise they can't be bothered by subordinates/little constituents
