Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Review process and ratings

Is exceeds/exceeds possible? Manager always says there is a quota, a number of exceeds they can give in the department, says it’s basically unattainable. I always get one meets, one exceeds.

Once you stop caring, working for BAC is so much easier.

i dont care for this rating system either. I tried for E/M once, but my manager still rated me as M/M. I don't care about their ranking system either. I just do work, do my best and that's it. I don't want to stress over where my stacking position might be in the team, because it will never be communicated to me. As long as I'm satisfied with my base pay, all else is a gift.

E/E or M/M doesn't matter. Sadly, It has no correlation with Bonus/Hike/promotion.
8 straight M/E and E/M. 1-3% bonus and less than 1% hike or no hike.

The unvaccinated will only get DNM.

So only one or two per team can get exceeds/exceeds? And no matter what, there has to be someone who gets a low rating?
Also, is there a stack ranking? I've heard our managers stack rank us against each other in case of layoffs, or for a succession plan.

I put E/E to see what my manager says. My manager has no clue what I do. I’m the only one that does what I do. My guess is the E/E will be given to someone that does half the work and is a D& I.

Yes, E/E is real. HR has managers use a 9-box format (DNM/M/E for the What across the top; E/M/DNM vertical top down for the How) and makes us force rank team members.

We're told approx. 25% of employees (Top Performers) in our group should be top right quadrant or thereabouts, with bottom 25% non-performers in the lower left quadrant, which sux if you have a high-performing team overall. Someone has to go there. The other 50% are placed in the middle somewhere.

I was a tough manager and only gave E/E when I was ready to promote someone and used it to make my case to HR to approve the promotion. (yea, it's not up to the manager. go figure.)

Getting E (or even M) on the What is worth more comp-wise than on the How. So, even if you get E/M or M/E, you're probably among the top paid on your team.

YMMV

Their is quota and HR monitors this. There is one or two who are getting exceeds/exceeds on your team.
