I've worked for companies that got to where Nike is at now (i.e. empty husk dominated by management consultant ghouls) and I can tell you that layoffs are going to become a permanent part of the culture.

Nike is considered a large employer in Oregon. If this layoff count is correct it does not trigger a WARN notice. Nike might actually be figuring things out after so many years by keeping rolling layoffs under the state threshold to keep off the public radar.
@4pdr, 347 people were fired; no layoffs; there is a difference.
Wrong. Nike just had a round of layoffs. 347 people. And this time every single one of them deserved it.
Stop trying to stir sh--e OP. Whenever more than a handful of people are going to be let go Nike must first notify the State, which publishes that notice on its WARN site.
I would say “Nice try at trolling”. Except it wasn’t.
So what?!
Proof? If so, must not be significant.. Being at Nike for some time I have no doubt there will be layoffs in the future but looking at the warn list, Nike is not listed.
