Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

I got a job interview coming up for an IT position in Houston/Spring

How do I find out what the job pay range is?

Also, any intel you can provide me? Is the work environment similar to ConocoPhillips, Hess, Chevron?

I came from Conoco to XOM and I can tell you that the culture leaves much to be desired. If culture is important to you then I’d think on making this leap. But to each their own, best of luck to you.

Your direct supervisor will be a total id--t. Never seen any company with such incompetent or misplaced leadership. It's really a shame.

Good luck! Make sure you get paid for the toxic culture and overtime.

an IT position at XOM is a death sentence if you actually like technology

You will find out about the pay grade if you’re offed a job. You shouldn’t expect it to be comparable to large or hyper growth Tech companies and will very likely be lower than CVX. XOM tend to lag industry for pay.

Culture and morale are currently very poor. They may treat you OK for the 1st yr or so because they are striving to staff for positions faster than the attrition rate and then their real face will show up again!

Good luck!
