Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

We need a union

It is getting out of control in our club. The managers have it out for older associates, I'm sure this is the new company directing, out with the old and in with the young. This is so sad you work your whole career for this jack ho-e of a company and they target you because you make good money and have good vacation time. My building has been under fire since they got rid of all of our long term gms in the market and over 30 long term assistant managers in our market. The market manager started her tyrant take down off all long term managers last year when she was placed in our market. Why is this ok with the company now. Why is it ok to demoralize associates and managers and discriminate against them because of their age and years with the company. We all need to call the union and get over 50% of each building to sign. Come on guys i know you all have it in you this is the only thing we have left before they take us all out. They can't silence us all.

Just a thought -

Been with the company a long time- been a GM for awhile- not once have I ever tried to or planned to lose my long term associates. Long term associates are the keepers of the culture and the process. Challenge can be in my personal experience that sometimes the long term associates don’t think the change in a process or procedure is right or necessary. But what our long term associates don’t always remember is they were the new associate once- they helped grow the company where it is today. They adapted and set good foundations in place. But we all know this company is ever changing- it keeps us on our toes-
That being said- if you feel like long term associates are a target- use the open door hotline. I personally have used it, I have had associates use it, it’s been a great tool. Can’t knock it till you try it. And if that doesn’t work and you do not get an answer (regardless if it is the one you want) then don’t stop the open door!

But please understand- it’s not the company that is doing that- it Is a person

If you could prove what we all know they are doing it would be a national scandal of major scale. The company has been systematically ridding themselves of their long-term associates for years. I wish "60 minutes" or some other major news source would take this story and run with it. Of course, that would involve actual investigative journalism, which went out of vogue with Walter Cronkite.

They've been doing this for 20 years. As soon as you make a certain wage you have a target on your back.

Have you tried posting the exact same thing with a different title, that might work.

Managers, leads and supervisors of course would want a union because their positions would be "protected".

Unions want Walmart because with over a million hourly workers to give them around $35 a paycheck gives them a nice healthy $35,000,000 a month at the very least.

Oddly enough most unions are going under and are just stopping payments to long time union workers.

I've been a salaried manager for 20 years and I've never understood why the associates don't unionize. Company brainwashed a bunch of OGs to never unionize only to constantly change and cut their positions. They've essentially cut out all positions that someone disabled could do. Much love to those CMs who kept their associates in positions even if they couldn't do it. Everyone else? Fuggin unionize and take control
