Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Shameless LI self promotion.

XOM manager announced his own promotion on LinkedIn. And emphasizing that it is an executive position no less. Whatever happened to humble leadership? Experienced in CCS technology by moving from job to job every few years? I doubt it.

@1ieh+1eRwDc0U, I think is the manager that was in Permian Facilities one year ago then it was moved to Delaware as a Facilities Manager. The last one was that he has 12 years working with EM.

Yeah.
Guess I'm one of the few that uses LinkDin for self-Deprecation, rather than self-Promotion.
I use the EM dogtag on mine too.
For different reasons, I guess.

People are often quick to update linkedin to reflect promotions, yet very slow to update it when they get fired or laid off

When I made Sr Principal, I searched for the 'do not notify' setting when I updated my job title. That apparently requires one to be #humble, a quaint personality trait that is now out of favor.

Social media is a way to stay connected to what is happening in the outside world. Would prefer people not clog LI with personal and political posts.

This isn’t unique to XOM, LinkedIn is full of this brand of self promotion.

Assuming it's the same one I was thinking of, it did use the exxonmobil hashtag and was one of the top posts when I just searched. Ugh.

I saw that as another EM manager had "liked" the post. It was the most cringe-worthy thing I've ever seen on LI.

The company culture changes only from the top at EM… the only change that employees can make is in their employment.

Just realize it is typical culture in EM ? Have you ever received feedback in your PA about visibility instead of focusing on your accomplishments ?
Fakers only breed another fakers...It is systematical and embedded in the culture...in order to change it, you need group of employees who are willing to create a revolution in changing the company culture...How many do you think are willing to do that ? :p

It is sad. This new entity is collecting the typical EM toxicity in middle ranks.

Absolutely none in low carbs “solutions” has techno expertise. The only requirement is to be willing to greenwash and promise the moon.
Haven’t you seen the qualifications of its president or their “leaders” aka lobbyists?
Take this clown for example:
