He's awful. He's brought nothing but chaos, confusion and discord to ICS. He may be a "great guy", but he is NOT a leader. He's also brought in incompetent people who railroad people and don't try to understand existing processes. He and his team are creating risk daily...no hourly. Several key people have exited and that's not good.

A couple of threads indicating that this is a DEI hire... Lol... In case it needs reminding Indians RULE silicon valley... And F100. For tech-centric roles, we've had to get white guys hired under DEI quota.

Visa management team has only folks who reported to the CEO. Sunil never reported to CEO

Why have so many comments been removed from this thread?

What happened to the woman who was to be named before year end (posted here shortly after KL left)? Oh, maybe she was one of the candidates they offered and said no? Or maybe this place is just full of it.

Don’t knock the guy until you see what he’s capable of. He’s highly respected in the industry and if he can shape up Wells Fargo, it’ll be better for everyone, including customers, partners and employees.

As a VP, I can say that the CISO role is quite important.

One thing is for certain, he will install a largely Indian leadership team and those DRs will do the same. Get ready ICS.

The chief compliance officer, chief ops risk officer, chief market risk officer, chief credit risk officer, so on and so forth are directs of the OC. So don’t act like info sec should be direct to CEO. No large bank has that model. Info sec is not a second line function, so shouldn’t report to the CRO. It’s a control function in the business risk generating front line and is independently overseen by second line

Anyone who (allegedly) knows anything about infosec should know a basic tenet is that the CISO should report directly to the CEO. Or at least the CRO.
Gee we used to do that before ICSA was moved out of Corporate Risk.
So to @syi+1eSlE8Rs, you're absolutely right, it's just another DEI middle manager.
This place sucks.

Maybe they removed his name from the visa.com management list?

What do you expect? NO ONE who is an "A Player" will take the job.. Why the he-l do you think we hired Gary the last time? And we see how long that lasted.

A CISO who is not reporting directly to the CEO with a dotted line to the board is not a "Chief" anything... They are a middle manager with a fancy title.

Sunil is nothing more than one of these middle managers.. He's not even listed on VISA's management team:

We have more than enough Indian men in leadership position who should not be there to begin with.
