Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

4yrs ago comment on BNY internal board

Does anyone else remember when HR exec Monique H posted about how wonderful the benefits, notably health and mental health support, were?

Then a downtrodden employee posts how she was have major anxiety from poor work/life balance at BNY and how the healthcare package didn't cover a therapist for an extended time. It got major attention and votes up and a response of "we'll be in touch" I cringe looking back at this.

Take the signs when you see 'em folks!

Company does not care about employees. That is very clear. Do NOT go the extra mile for this place.

I use my wife's healthcare and she works for the state. Unless you have a salary equal to those on the 15th floor, the benefit package sucks.

By far the worst is the so called “Employee Assistance Program”. A coworker developed major health issues and his team referred him to the E.A.P. The E.A.P was utterly useless and could only wish him good luck… there was absolutely no support or help whatsoever. A few coworkers banded together to get him through.

Well, this is the thing. They have consultants benchmarking the company against its peers. So then they cherry-pick.

That statement was likely true… that the company was in the upper quadrant in specific respects… while ignoring how it ranks in other areas of compensation and benefits.

2022 health insurance has got better as compared to 2021 and years before. In 2022, you now have 3 options, higher, even higher and highest cost. Health care cost has gotten out of hand. Regardless of which private company you work for. Unless you happened to work for govt than it's same old same old.
