Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Please Lay my OFF!!!

This place has completely flipped on its head and its coming straight from the top. Client's are noticing and planning their exits. Trust me, I work with major logos and hearing this first hand! Fiserv is a bloated dinosaur and Frank thinks he can buy these sh---y little companies (insert horrible acquisition here) thinking it's going to keep the boat afloat. Guaranteed if this lack of leadership continues, our best days are behind us! I gotta get out of here! Please lay me off!!

Instead of laying me off FDC made me a contractor thus I lost my huge severance after 21 year. I was a contractor for about 30 days and already had a new job lined up. My pay went up 30% with 401K matching. Fiserv will do the same to a lot of folks. There are way better jobs out there.

Fiserv always paid sub-standard salary. The general rule was work for 2 years, learn stuff and then get out and this was long before First Data. Also I noted that in 2020 it was guaranteed 100% that Alpharetta would close. Yeah, right. So much for rumors on this board.

Due to the imbalance in Fiserv's salaries compared to its competitors, you can make more money by starting to work at a competitor now, then you would if you waited a few months for a severance.

If the pay was about equal, then waiting for severance may have worked in your favor, but the amount of money you could be pulling in after your two weeks notice will eventually total more than the amount of severance you would get. Assuming it takes a few months to get laid off.

You know how much severance you would get, then you could calculate how much of a raise you would need to make working the rest of the year make up for the lost severance. I expect the amount of an increase is salary is smaller than what the competitors are currently offering.

Just something to think about.
