Teenagers in a smoothie shop do not bear responsibility for a life-threatening peanut allergy and how much exposure occurs to trigger the anaphylaxis. That falls on the parent and I suspect his tirade is his internal defense mechanism to shift blame from himself to someone else (i.e. the teenagers).

A lot of national and international news agencies are reporting this story, however the major three stations in Charlotte are totally silent. think I saw one report locally, it has been removed.
Think I have read every "apology" statement. I just don't believe any of them. I believe he was showing his true colors. I've dealt with a few life or death situations involving both of my kids. The thought of going into a rant like he did never crossed my mind.

From what I've read, he requested no peanut butter which is different from "my son has a severe peanut allergy that can put him into anaphylaxis, what are your safeguards to cross contamination since you use peanut butter in other smoothies?"
Having Celiac myself, cross contamination is a risk even if they take precautions. The only place I 100% trust is a dedicated establishment or my house.
