Global Reorganization Announcement?

Hearing more and more rumors that some major announcements on consolidation and reorganization coming by March. This would impact business lines as well create a global technical organization with US/MS/DS such as merging ERME with US groups similar to the new Global Projects organization.

One thing for sure is that more rationalizing is coming with fewer positions … unless you are based in India or Malaysia.

The announcement is coming out in February 2022. Downstream businesses will merge as Chemicals is the only sector that is growing. EMRE will be reduced or eliminated. EMRE and Technology employees not working physically on a site will have two weeks severance for each year of employment. Site engineers will also double as subject matter experts in some fields.

I hope we are on the same page when I say any 50 subject matter expert in Exxon will be worthless. Not because there are no actual subject matter experts but because the limited number of positions will be granted to useless brownnosers as always, put a ROI on this

@2gzu+1eXwH4EX McKinsey is probably in the mix (at the trough is probably a better description), especially with regard to net zero BS. However with regard to Corp scale and integration I would put my money on another horse (BCG maybe - I am speculating).

At the end of the day CSI is about offshoring for cheap labor and getting rid of expensive folks, mostly from North America and Europe. CSI really doesn’t have a direct relationship to net zero smoke screen.

@eam+1eXwH4EX It’s McKinsey. Where do you think this recommendation came from. https://www.mckinsey.com/business-functions/sustainability/our-insights/the-net-zero-transition-what-it-would-cost-what-it-could-bring

The old URC became RTD in UIS in 2019 so the Linda Bot owns it already. This upcoming event sounds mostly a downstream, chemicals and CSR event to me. Doesn't seem to include upstream research and old EMIT/UIS Digital Technology.

In Annandale something weird is going on, keep a focus on Syrup and his gang, will be running for the life boats very soon, watch the moves, Annandale = high cost location there is a plan. NDA good luck with that…house if Yeung is hiring.. should have stayed in Paulsboro……

If you’re fresh out of college you should really think if you want to work in a shrinking industry at a shrinking company.. it wasn’t fun penny pinching where in big tech and other growing industries you’ll get in trouble for not spending fast enough. The bust may come later, but in the meantime the bo-m is where the growth and fun is at.

I thought ExxonMobil was an engineering company, which took pride in its engineers. ExxonMobil could do engineering marvels that others could only dream of.

What happened to that ExxonMobil? Does anyone remember those days?

Probably reorganize to create an additional level of managers and a few more Vice President positions. Potentially at least one more President position too.

EMRE is a zombie site anyways. It is a cockroach site. Won't completely die off, it will survive some how

Announcement in April, just before 1Q results are out. EMRE will be reduced to a GTL for each discipline. Any other EMRE person not working physically in a site will be a former ExxonMobil employee with two weeks severance for each year of employment. Site engineers will also double as a subject matter expert in some field. The timing of the announcement will give an additional boost to the stock price. DW and others will be dumping a lot of stock after the announcement and quarterly report.

We may adopt the Valero and Marathon models where we have 50 subject matter experts at headquarters who interface with 3rd party technology providers for engineering services and process technologies.

Valero and Marathon's 50 subject matter experts is equivalent to 3000 EMRE employees based on a 10-year running average of ROI.

I believe an announcement is planned for Monday or Tuesday. Primary impact will be research and engineering.

The end of URC and RTD.
Maybe the Linda Bot will add another title to her bag of leftovers.

Something is definitely coming for EMRE. Quiet moves are being made in Annandale and we’ve been treading water (poorly I might add) for a while now with no real direction. Add to that the technology capabilities stuff results that mysteriously have never come to light. Definitely signals that something big is coming.

Well... Even for a non native English speaker like me, “Corporate Scaling & Integration ” says it all...
Just out of curiosity, I'd be interested in knowing who are the consultants behind that. BCG, Deloitte ?

I’m hearing something similar from my EMRE SLS to expect big announcements in the coming months.
