Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

PG driving intel margins lower

Dufus PG is bringing back queen/kings with higher salary and also spending more money on compensation instead of firing non performing grade 9/10/11/12 employees. Going forward intel margins will be lower 40%. By end of year 2022 intel stock will be < $40.

@2dcf+1eZq2YWD Intel fabs are so inefficient, lagging technology, and lastly no capacity.

They can’t stand and compete against the foundry’s.

There are no buyers as their isn’t a business model for the current technology offering, nor do they have capacity to sell.

Stack them as a spin-off with 50% GM charging mother Intel who also needs 50% GM and you have a totally broken business.

Can’t stand alone and also can’t stand as an IDM, pretty ugly beyond belief for Intel currently

The real solution for Intel is to spin out the fabs and have design fully target TSMC.

Just throw in the towel on fabs.
You can’t beat TSMC.

Let the fabs fend for themselves. It’s an incentive for them to keep their jobs vs. a long and slow bleed with the current half-as--s strategy.

@1sim+1eZq2YWD What the real problem is PG has the lineage and uniquely also the credibility to do almost anything. What he has chosen to do is the wrong thing.

He is like an old coach or legendary General returning to his old team and thinking because of past legacy doing the same will return them to glory, somehow a right, but their are no rights or entitlements in business.

The tipping point has been passed and the opponents are far better funded and superior. They have scale and technology leadership as well as collaborative ecosystem of the biggest technology companies supporting them.

Intel is like Germany fighting on three fronts, they can’t win even with government money and protection.

How can you be sure they won't vet rid of the useless eaters in this company?
The new OKR system if I understand correctly, sounds harsher on delivering then insights. Also Intel has always had a talent issue, it's a risk but hiring quality engineers is desperately needed here.

PG-13 is the Slim Pickens riding the Intel bo-b down to ground zero at the end of Dr. Strangelove. At least he'll do it enthusiastically and with a smile!

@1zsg OP here. In my post I didn't mention bring back BK. BK was corrupt CEO. Only thing he did was to repurchase shares (creating big debt on balance sheet) to push share price up so he can benefit personally. What I meant is PG is no good and sinking Intel further deep. Intel needs technical leader who understands products, have vision, deep dives into execution inefficiency and clean up existing middle management cr-p.

You can’t have your lord and savior BK back, OP. Get over it, he sucked eggs.
