Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Enough is enough

I'm getting sick and tired of seeing WFC donating millions left and right while it completely ignores its employees. Some of those publicity stunts could help fund raises for employees that would actually keep pace with inflation, but no. We have to donate to the issue of the day/week/month/year. It's ridiculous.

They are saving enough money by replacing US workers with Indians and Filipinos. They have 20k employees in those two countries alone!

OP needs to learn how tax deductions and politcal bribes, I mean donations, work.

Also, a quick refresher on how corporations don't add shareholder value by giving the people doing the work money.

Every 10k and Annual Report should have to list how many employees receive public aid from the state and federal governments.

Employment at will. Of you don’t like/don’t agree with the corporate philosophy then move on. I don’t agree with much that WF says or does but I have a family to feed and this place is paying the bills. When/if a better opportunity comes along then I will pursue it. Don’t expect more than the usual increases because it’s not going to happen.

You need to learn how to play the game. I know I wish life wasn’t so fake but it is what it is.

They write off the expense and milk the PR for much more than it’s worth. And the CEOs of the lucky charities pocket bigger bonuses. It’s a win-win. So why not?

They wouldn't give that money to the employees anyway; it would've gone to marketing. That's what corporate charity is.

Corporate Social Responsibility... it's part of every large company.

Better get over it, or go start your own business.

The bean counters would tell you that those expenses are in a different bucket. Just another way of saying they can write it all off. Another reason they have so many contractors and third parties, they can write off everything. All they can write off for us employees are overhead expenses.

How are they completely ignoring employees? You still get paid every two weeks I assume. Why would you care what they do?

There’s nothing in it for them. Employees don’t give Wells Fargo as big of a tax deduction as contributing to the woke cause of the week. The PR is worth more than a workforce that feels valued by their employer. 🤷🏻
