Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Promotion, titles

Many say that there’s no real compensation tied to promotion and titles, but I wonder if the promotion helped anyone get a much better job elsewhere? If so, then it is still worth the effort to get a promotion. Just sayin'.
I don't like people who have never even bothered trying to get a promotion, but they already know that they will not achieve that through hard work.

US could start layoffs with the Caldwell Idaho bank manager. She makes a huge salary. Expects other employees to do personal work. Rude and disrespectful to customers pretends to be at one bank and is actually shopping or going home. How many inside bank customers justify a $100,000 yearly salary. And brags to other employees how important she is. If asked what she feels is an insult , intimidation and loss of hours ensues Not a great face for US Bank

AND if you do have aspirations to manage but you are a straight-shooter and a hard worker, you will get promises but no promotions. I was told at least 4 times that I was in line for a group lead position and given the responsibilities of assigning work, etc. but never got the title (or a raise) After that they put me on a special assignment and shuffled me around to posts I never wanted when they did their infamous Re-Orgs.
I'm convinced I was black-listed for promotions because they knew I'd figure out the managers above me were just faking their knowledge by using industry jargon and basically giving upper management a snow job.
It never ceases to amaze me the whole shebang hasn't imploded already!

Check LinkedIn. Virtually everyone is an AVP or VP in that clueless bank. I have worked with multiple of this guys, even some SVPs who cannot Facilitate a meeting, cannot manage People, cannot communicate, and cannot deliver. So stop drinking from that poisoned Kool-Aid. Get a real job with a real title in a real company

Being VP of whatever might get attention on a resume from smaller companies, but an interview would let people know it's a meaningless title. Larger companies will similarly have hundreds of VPs and know that it doesn't equate to much.

You obviously are clueless. For the Vast majority the titles are largely tied to years service and time in grade level. There is no criteria whatsoever, as many things at USB. There is no 'effort' in attaining a title at all.
