Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Will Vz continue with this mandate?

Several of my colleagues left last week, most of them vaccinated. Vaxed or not, everyone is leaving. However, the mandate has greatly encouraged many people to look for other opportunities.
I wonder what will happen now that the mandate for federal contractors has been blocked nationwide?

Why should I be required to work on site when vendors are not required to get a vaccine?

Freedom to die as a medieval peasant without modern medicine.

Tired of hearing about the Knuckleheads who refuse to get vaccinated. If you want to continue working at Verizon, get Vaccinated.

It seems amazing there is so much resistance to the vaccine.
I am sad for families that depend on Verizon’s salary being put at risk because of some imagined moral stand that will be tested again when new employment is sought. When things are desperate enough, will they take the vaccine in order to have their kids in school, to be eligible to walk into an emergency room? In what scenario do they think being unvaccinated will not be an issue with new employment?
MMR vaccines are old tech. Been around for a long time, proven track records. The risk is minimal, as it is with every vaccine. Nothing different.
Barring a legitimate medical reason to avoid the vaccine, in which extra precautions to avoid the virus are taken, the rationale not to be vaccinated is very weak, and will make future employment opportunities extremely limited. Corporation’s won’t risk the lawsuit of putting employees at risk, and therefore won’t knowingly hire the unvaccinated.
This stand of not taking the vaccine is a losing one. Just like in poker, you have to know when to fold. You just don’t have a winning hand.
Best of luck to those who will quit before being vaccinated, it’s obvious by now they will surely need it

The best part was telling people to return to the office, then sending emails to us saying even though we're in the same office, we should use webex instead of gathering in the same room for meetings.

What the heck is the point in returning to the office then?

Company has a lot of nerve. Our office never took any precautions the whole pandemic. We sit right next to each other coughing

If the only reason you're leaving this place is a vaccine then good riddance.

I am close to an agreement with a company that has lawyers on retainer specifically to fight government vax mandates. Nothing will make me change my mind. I'm out one way or another. I'm gonna cough on. Everything I can before I go. Guess what office/garage I'm in.
