So are they basically walking back what SVB said at the town hall and making us go in the office a set amount of days? I'm extremely confused and irritated.

@1knf+1ecMp1cM - yeah. It certainly shows who is calling the shots and who is not. Tech , not able to manage itself, the messaging or the outcomes .
So has the Covid virus just vanished now? No longer a ki---r virus? No one will get sick from Covid after RTO? The new Covid variant is not any concern at all? Wondering.
Agreed. I’m a Saul fan- I think he is genuine and supportive. This was really cr---y.
This is the first time I’ve been like “oh s**t” about technology. I can’t imagine SVB will be staying after this. Not a good sign for the org. If senior mgmt didn’t mean to stir up problems then they are really tone deaf. Guess I’ll be driving in to have an agile call with my team in another state.
The should have allowed Saul to make the announcement in his next AMA meeting instead of humiliating him like this.
This was the lowest of low blows.
@ust+1ecMp1cM
Badging reports, location reports based on login, Teams has built in tracking, and so on. You’ll get a nasty email if you’ve got reports not sticking to the plan. Too many and the pressure gets applied to mgmt.
I loved the part about Agile Teams mandatory attendance for backlog refinement and sprint planning. The part about multiple screens and comfortable seating.
I have both at home. At work, we all have multiple screens in our cubes. Never saw any comfortable seating....do they mean those standard office chairs? They're OK, but hardly worth driving in for.
So we are supposed to all drive in and sit in our scattered who-knows-where-you-sit-today cubes, to get back on the phone for Agile Meetings. Unbelievable.
I think Saul is a short timer after this. It was a power play move by Powell.
I'd be surprised if there isn't an announcement within the next 60 days or so that Saul is looking at opportunities outside Wells Fargo.
You don't have a decision you made regarding your department, and announced to everyone, overturned by a supposed peer and stick around.
There is this one guy on our floor. I think I know who it is but I am not sure. He sits in the stall and will not leave until the bathroom is empty. Always takes the end stall. There are sounds like some type of sturdy plastic device is being crumpled. Never seen him leave the bathroom as when I leave my desk is not in that area. As long as everyone is discussing bathroom delights, I thought I would share and share alike. Are we all happy now?
I read Scott Powell's email. I get the sense he didn't really come out and say what he wants to say. Funny how I get that same feeling around King Charles.
@wuf+1ecMp1cM "...out like a scout on a new route..." I like that.
Folks, they don't care. Pull your heads out of your rear ends.
They are trying to people to QUIT so they don't have to pay severance. Do the math on the average severance paid to an employee and multiply that times several thousand. They are trying to save tens of millions of dollars. This is an exercise in cutting costs. Period.
They don't care how long you have been here or what knowledge you have. You are easily replaceable.
what I am waiting for is how they will enforce RTO. As a manager I have heard nothing.
ridiculous.
scott pow-wow sent yet ANOTHER email 'clarifying' the return to office.
OFFS
I'm gone as soon as that bonus hits my checking account. I wonder if I really have to go in for 3 weeks. Seems like it would take longer than that for them to really reprimand me for not going in.
What an absolute joke and continuing sideshow act from leadership. My entire team is remote. Has been for over a decade. At least half will just walk immediately if made to go back into the office. If this isn't being purposefully done to drive attrition, it implies all of senior leadership is just wildly ignorant of what employees want and are willing to leave over. Which, given many of the recent decisions, is entirely possible....Hanlon's razor and all that.
Major attrition about to happen. Sons of bi----s all of them.

They don’t care. They will cash out by YE 2022 when it all falls apart, or just before, and BS their way into their next gig. That’s how these people work.
Want to meet your attrition goals but only by losing your best people? This is how.

Not to mention the electric bill, maintenance, productivity down the toilet, etc.
Wtf happened to purpose based ???
When the penny-pinchers in the executive suite see the office plumbing bill at the end of January they're going to be begging us to return to working from home
Ooh boy, I can't wait to go into the office and sit on calls just like I do at home because no one else from my team is in my location. :/
hmmmmm......
Yeah, that's what is sounding like scott pow-wow is putting it back to jan 10 for everyone.
saul's 'ask me anything' on December 17th will be fun.
It was always going to happen eventually. 401K match 12/31, bonus payout 2/4/22 and then it's out like a scout on a new route.
