Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Too many people complain over nonesense on here

So I recently left Wells Fargo. I left voluntarily for a better opportunity that was best for me and my family. I can tell you that wells has many benefits and way they run things that might not make sense to you all but other companies don’t have. The crazy amount of PTO, paid parental leave (including 4 months for fathers!), 401k match, bereavement leave, tuition reimbursement, weekends off for the most part, reasonable hours, decent health insurance costs, the list goes on. Many of you don’t know what you have. If you want to complain go look for something else but do your research before quitting on the full picture. I’m very thankful for my time at wells, and love what I do now, I wouldn’t have gotten to where I am without wells. Before you complain and complain, take a step back and look at what you have. You all don’t have it that bad.

I don't know about pigeons, but many of us have been getting the mushroom treatment: kept in the dark and fed a load of sh-t.

"I can assure you my group is treated like pigeons" as in they flap around and cr@p all over everything? What does that even mean?

I'll also add to this, wells benefits are pretty good. not the greatest health care benefits but better than nothing, and while many companies have a 401k match, very few have one that is 6%

OP - While I agree with the general sentiment of your post, I think many of the complaints here are valid. Wells does offer good benefits, but the new leadership introduced an adversarial "us versus them" attitude when dealing with team members... I mean, employees.

I have been told that my role is eventually going away. They suggested I get certified for a different skill - all on my own dime. If I apply for a new position it would be in a hub city. I would be required to relocate at my own expense. Whether or not I take a new role, I will need to return to office. They voided the telecommuting agreements. A company has a right to make these changes, but it will be at the expense of employee morale.

My take is that "this too shall pass". I think CS and SVB are short-timers. CS will get the boot with another scandal or if the asset cap remains. SVB seems to be auditioning for a CEO job. He'll jump ship with the first offer to be the boss. Then, the new-newcomers will have to do a 180 on all of the recent changes.

OP, you are so accurate. I was laid off, and I am looking around and a lot of the companies I have interviewed with do not have nearly what Wells Fargo offers.
To the constant whiners and complainer3, I guarantee you that when or IF you leave here, you will find something else to complain about in the next company.

@mik+1ecRm02q Do you honestly think that I’m not looking for a new job? WTH

Wells has some decent benefits, yes. Before the scandals broke it was an okay place to work. But living with the constant threat of layoffs and the poor communication around that creates a negative and unhealthy environment that sucks the life out of people.

That’s what makes it a miserable place to work.

Why don’t you go look for another job if you’re treated like a pigeon? Curios?

Whatever little corner your department is in please go back to it continue over generalizing workers sanity and treatment across the enterprise.

I can assure you my group is treated like pigeons … this place sucks and I’m surprised they’re still in business the way they treat customers and employees… to big to fail maybe?

PS. The least they can do is provide health benefits when they basically print money once they get the go ahead from the gubment
