Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

The best deterrent to resignation is better management.

While people do want more money, it's often lousy management that makes them start looking.

I agree. Bad management encourages someone to do just enough work to keep from getting fired and no more.

What do you think about people that just do the bear minimum? - - -First time poster to this. I think about it as much as I do about a company that does the minimum for me. I show as much loyalty to the company as the company does to me. You pay me “x”, you get “x” in return. You pay me “x+”, get “x+” in return. Gone are the days of 10-16 hr days.

Perhaps instead of blaming your manager you concentrate on what your doing to make your goals and offer up ways you can help in other areas to expand your knowledge? Sounds to me like the best way to combat someone that apparently doesn't think much of you. If you had a 1:1 each week the complaint would be micro managing. What do you think about people that just do the bear minimum?

So interviewing right now. 2 offers on the table and 1 on the way. Comparing comps and benefits. Life is good. A true sigh of relief to leave the Citi sinking ship. HaHa!!

The “Great Resignation” is not a myth. It’s a job seeker’s paradise right now.
I suspect that January the opportunities will exponentially grow.

Oh we know that. Its the diversity/bootlicker hires. In fiu, recent promotions were pre selected from people whom senior management liked regardless of actual management experience. Its gonna be a shockker when people leave and there is not enough analyst to work cases. There are too many chiefs, and not enough Indians…

Management today is horrendous, most of them are clueless and just kiss each other assets to stay relevant until the entire management gets replaced by other clueless people instead of them hiring within .
