Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Employee Christmas Fund

So who else got the email asking us to contribute to the employee Christmas Fund? Ford made $140 billion dollars in revenue and will probably cash out with $12 billion from their investment in Rivian this year. Shameless that they couldn't contribute a dollar from their own profit and instead are asking us to pool together $50-$100 per person for their Christmas fund.

This fund/charity has been around for a long time. Email is sent out every year. Give if you want to, don’t if you don’t - not a big deal either way.

@1kuz+1ect6GGR A 100 billion dollar company asking their employees (most of whom are barely getting by and are one k from getting laid off) is tacky AF. If Ford wants to donate their quarterly billion $$$ profit to a charity, then fine. Asking their employees to pitch in at time when so many are getting shafted by layoffs and the company is earning billions in profits. Not cool. Why aren't you asking about how they're helping their retirees cover medical expenses or helping the poor residents of Flat Rock who had leave their houses behind because of the environemntal cluster* caused by Ford?

The ECF was started by Ford employees in the 1950s to provide food and Christmas gifts to disadvantaged families, children, seniors. Recipients are submitted by Ford employees. Contributions are 100% voluntary.

Shame on you for sh-----g on the Ford employees who just want to help some people at Christmas. Maybe you trolls should learn the facts before making stupid posts.

Yep, pretty cheeky to ask employees to donate to a charity fund that will be distributed to garner positive publicity for the employer.

I will not donate to any charity Ford has dealings with. I want to choose my own causes to fund. Also, with the way employees are being treated and mis lead. SORRY I will not sponsor that type of behavior.

What is the 'Christmas fund?' What will you get out of it? If it's for an employee event, it will probably be fun and worth it. I get that some may get upset over having to contribute, but at the end of the day - just do it and enjoy it. Sounds like you guys can all use something to cheer yourselves up. I'm sure whoever is planning the event is working hard to make it happen. Just help it along...
