Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Overworked

I'm on the verge of giving notice, because the more I work, the more they add to my plate. I guess, more or less, everyone here is overwhelmed, and I wonder how you deal with that? Is there any way I can turn down the extra work without being on the next layoff list? Is there any way to deal with this without quitting?

I agree with the previous posts - it's time to start looking elsewhere.
But until you do, you need to start saying no to the additional work. Talk to your manager, and let them know that you will give 100% to the job during working hours but there are only so many hours in the day in order to get that work done, and the more they pile on you, the less is going to actually get done.

Honestly, i started setting boundaries. Fiserv gets 40hrs of my time a week, regardless of deadlines. Their incompetent management and lack of staff isn't my problem.

No is a complete sentence. Why do employees consistently relinquish power, especially the power to say no. If you continue to work above and beyond, that is on you and only you.

Go out on medical leave due to stress.

You need to leave that place. The first response to your post was dead on. You won’t miss that place when you leave. I’m speaking from experience. In fact, you’ll probably reflect back on it and wonder why you stuck around so long. It’s somewhat like an abusive relationship; once you’re out you realize how mistreated you were.

If it is truly bothering you so much so that you need to come to an anonymous website to ask for advice, then I think you've gotten your answer. It is time to move on. You will forget about Fiserv the moment you walk out the door on your last day.
