Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Integrity and professionalism are lacking here

It may be just my current mood, but I'm sure that many will agree that BofA has lost a lot of its reputation. Working here used to be a matter of prestige /not everyone could work here/, and now I have a feeling that I am in high school again. Why has everything become so frivolous and unprofessional?

High school is a perfect way to describe the office atmosphere right now!

Majority of us are being asked to RTO while a pandemic is still going on in order to "collaborate" with business partners that are increasingly located in India. This is what the SLT asks us to believe - it is literally an insulting suggestion that is full of ignorance, indifference, or both.

In reality we are being asked to RTO in order to force many people to resign, retire, and take jobs outside the Bank so that BofA can cut payroll costs as part of their "responsible growth" mantra.

In reality, the RTO policy has probably damaged culture and morale to the extent where it will negatively impact the Bank for years to come.

If the leadership came out and said this, at least it would be honest:

My personal preference is to see people when I come to the office and that is the leadership style I have been comfortable with over the years. My executive team [yes managers] struggles with leading from a computer [which is what most rank-and-file employees do on the daily] and I miss the ability to fly to locations around the globe. Your leadership team understands this is a new normal so we will take who ever is left in the office [third string talent] and march on [even if the bank turns into a Yahoo].

This is the moment where I expected BOA’s leadership to lead the way and they failed miserably. I completely agree it’s not the organization we all use to love and be proud of. They have proven to be spineless and put their own selfish needs over their employees. They continue to stress the lies of how great collaborations is in the office yet we’re all split up. Never thought I’d see the day where you expect these leaders to lead and all they give you is more lies and fluff. Must be embarrassing for them to think we actually believe their lies anymore.
