Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Acquisition failures

I had a feeling that the acquisition of Mobileye would end up like this even before Intel announced it. This again leads to the question why does this company has so many acquisition failures?

Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems like the leadership doesn't know what they are doing when deciding on acquisitions. Many people are just wondering what's the next thing Intel will sell..

What! @jom+1efpOEG8

Clearly you are not an intel employee. Otherwise you wouldn’t be making this comment. Or you are HR. Or you are sleep walking, or in a coma… Promotions and results? Promotions and strong results? There is no relationship between these two.

The last thing they need is a self driving car business. This is a step in the right direction.

There were a couple insider trading cases involving mobileye. Search the internet and you will find the cases. These insider trading incidents happened during Intel’s acquisition of mobileye and it involved people close to the founders -

believe it or not, one of them involved James Shaoul is a physician specializing in nonsurgical cosmetic procedures, including botox and laser hair removal. According to this case, it says that founder, Director A and his wife have received treatment at James Shaoul’s clinic. the case mentions that founders director a and b told their close circle to buy mobileye shares (around the time of the acquisition)

The point is mobileye founders/associates made money when mobileye went public, they made big money when intel acquired them and now they will make money again through intel initiated ipo. I don’t know … horrible

As mergers go this actually isn’t too bad, Intel made money. Pat is desperate he needs cash to fund his misguided failure strategy.

Unlike almost every other big acquisition this actually is being cut free before it’s suffocation and actually made a bit of money. Intel’s past is a littered with failures acquisitions and billions lost on failed strategies.
