Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Why do you still work at this Corporate Circle Je-k?!

Why o why does anyone clinically sane want to work at WF?

Scandal after scandal.

Consent orders.

Asset cap.

Constant chaos.

Schitt raises for top performers.

Inept leadership.

No real HR leadership.

Treat their people like schitt. They want you to quit.

I could go on and on.

Oh, they are not respected by most in Congress.

Because I'm paid fairly well.

Because I'm ready and able to retire at any time, and don't have to take any cr@p from anybody and can walk out the door any minute if I want to.

To me, I think of every paycheck like it's a small Bonus. I don't need it, but it's not like I have anything else to do.

As long as they're willing to keep paying me, I'm not going to rock the boat.

Cha CHING!

I want to see the company do well, but primarily holding out for the bonus, 401k match, and profit sharing I worked around the clock this year to get.

Congress' approval rating is 21%, and their respect is for sale.

Getting back to the question at hand, I love my job and enjoy working with me peers and manager. Sometimes corporate overlords are ok, sometimes they do stupid things. In the past what they are up to hasn't impacted my job satisfaction much. All the layers above sort of soak up the nonsense and only so much actually made its way to me. The new regime is trying to "fix" that however with their allegedly company-wide policies. They really aren't company wide (looking at you travel policy), but they are wider than they used to be. Such things reduce my productivity and satisfaction, but so far it hasn't been enough to overcome the positives.

Being respected by Congress is definitely something i look at in an employer. Do you have a list of who is respected and who isn’t?

Because:

  • I feel I’m really well paid for what I do.
  • My job is super low stress and fun and I’m good at it.
  • I have been around for about a decade and have a solid network in a few different states and business lines.
  • Because of all this I have emotional ties and care about the company, seeing things through - through the good times and bad times.

Thanks for asking! I hope this helps.

Gee, maybe b/c in some areas we enjoy what we do. Maybe b/c we've around for a while and have a ton of PTO. Maybe b/c we're ok with our salary. Maybe b/c stuff always changes and in a few years we'll have a whole new set of leaders.
