It will be interesting, I left a while ago for another team and only a small set of folks I recognize.
I worked in Marketing and was laid off last year. What a relief! But it always baffled me that our "leaders" would do re-org after re-org, process change after process change, for years --- and every single time they would say why this time the change would be so amazing for everyone. God what a bunch of clueless mo--ns, as if we don't notice that every "improvement" wasn't just discarded within a year. No long term strategy for stabilization and growth.
Marketing is hiring like mad. Of course that doesn’t mean no layoffs but nobody on my team is worried.
That is what happens when you play the nonstop executive roullette. Each one comes in, re-orgs their world, leaves in 3-4 years and rinse/repeat.
Reorgs are the bane of my existence. We literally take something broken, break it again, say we're fixing it, and then try to fix the things that were broken again. Once we figure out that it won't work, we determine that we probably need a reorg to fix this.
You'll find the new org posted on a stucco wall in a dark alley off of Hope Street.
Layoffs will be announced first quarter
